Build a Body You Love

Let me tell you why I love this phrase.

BUILD… It’s about creating something, putting in real effort, and making something of substance.

That’s the total opposite of how we’ve been conditioned to think about our bodies and getting “in shape.” Our culture pushes this idea that we need to shrink, restrict, and take away from ourselves to achieve the body and health we want.

But that’s just not true. Not only is it incorrect, it’s damaging. Damaging to your body when you treat it that way and even more so to your spirit! Anything that makes you feel like you need to be less than is unhealthy and unproductive.

No, we should be building ourselves up!
Nourish your body with the right foods, in the right amounts.
Move in ways that give you strength, power, and confidence!

I also love this phrase because it’s so empowering: You have the power to build the body you want. You’re not stuck in a body that doesn’t suit you. If you want to be leaner, stronger, faster, have more energy – you can. Yes, it takes time and effort, but once you truly make the commitment in your heart – and when you experience that, you know what it feels like – nothing can stop you.
